The entrance to the park at the top of Commonwealth Ave.   Commonwealth Ave. intersects Los Feliz Blvd.  From there go north (about half a mile north of Los Feliz.) Click here for a map. Parking is on either side of the street.

CMG-LA presents......Monday Evening Hikes

Join us on our weekly hike up in Griffith Park!  A group of us take about a 2 hour hike. Then you can join the group for dinner after the hike at a local restaurant.  Dogs on leashes are also welcome on this hike.  Please note the 'rain rule' - rain after 4:30 pm cancels that Monday's hike.


This easy 90-minute hike up Charlie Turner's Trail (with a few hundred feet elevation gain) takes us from the trailhead in the Griffith Park Observatory parking lot up past Dante's View to the spectacular views on the peak of Mt. Hollywood, which some refer to as the "McDaddy" of Los Angeles hiking trails. For more details on this trail, go to www.guidespot.com/guides/best_hiking_trails_in.

Host/Trail Guide: CMG'er Gary Cleff will be our gracious host and talented trail guide. He has led Great Outdoor hikes for over ten years, so he knows these trails well!

What to Bring: Comfortable walking/hiking shoes, water and a jacket . . . it gets cool at the top some evenings. And you might want to check if there is a concert at the Greek Theater if you would come up Vermont to the Observatory. Depending on the popularity, it can be a zoo and then the Fern Dell route is "better".

Since 1978, CMG has been a place where all men -- gay, bi, trans, and straight, from 18-80+ can find a different way to connect.
