What weâre about
Join us for bicycle rides!
Please click "Read more" below to find out about our cycling group.
You must be at least 18 years old and wear a helmet to participate in our bike rides. You must join our Meetup group and RSVP to attend events, put your real name with your photo in your profile and answer your profile questions.
To participate in our bike rides you must agree to follow these RULES:
1. You must follow the leader at all times during our bike rides and never ride ahead of the leader;
2. Do not cut ahead of other bike riders without passing on their left and yelling out "passing on your left" when riding in a straight line and there is sufficient room to the left to pass them;
3. If you have to stop for any reason such as a flat tire or other hazard, call the leader immediately on his cell phone and leave a message. Do not text him only because your text may not be heard;
4. Do not leave the bike ride without telling the leader. If you want to leave the bike ride tell the leader when we are stopped or call him on your phone and leave a message;
5. If you RSVP "Yes" for a bike ride and do not show up without canceling by changing your RSVP to "No" before the bike ride takes place without a good reason, you will be removed from the group. If you are a "no show" three times you will be banned from the group.
If you do not follow these rules you will be asked to leave the bike ride, and you will be removed from the group.
WAIVER and RELEASE:
You release and hold harmless the organizers and all other participants from all claims or liabilities arising out of participating in our bike rides.
BECOME A SUPPORTING MEMBER:
When you donate $5 at http://paypal.me/paylouis/5 to our group you'll have "SUPPORTING MEMBER" under your name in your profile and when you RSVP for events. Type "Southern California Cycling Group" and your Meetup name where it says "Add a note" so I know who is making the donation. This will help pay for the fees that Meetup charges to have our group on their website.

You must sign a waiver of liability if requested by the event host or organizer to participate in any events or be a member of our group or a guest in our group.
You and your guests must wear a bicycle helmet and practice bicycle safety while riding in any of the cycling activities listed in this group. Safety is always our first concern.
You and your guests hereby grant permission to the Southern California Cycling Club (and other fun events!) to render preventative or first-aid assistance or seek treatment or medical care that it seems reasonably necessary, including hospitalization, for your health and well being.

"No show policy":
If you RSVP "Yes" and do not show up 3 times for events without canceling by changing your RSVP to "No" before the event, you will be removed and banned from participating in this Meetup group.
You agree that the organizer's opinion is final and that he or she may remove you from the group and may not grant you permission to participate in any activity upon his or her sole discretion.
You also give permission to the Southern California Cycling Group (and other fun events!) to free use of your name, picture and voice in any broadcast, telecast, print account, online or any other account in any medium of the event (the âpersonal releaseâ).
