Timing:

11:00am Arrival, 12:30 pm Event Over.

RSVP: No RSVP necessary
What to bring: The event is free, but bring a snack to share.  Also, for the ceremony bring a flower if you'd like. See below.
Parking: There is plenty of free parking for this event.  CMG strongly encourages carpooling.

CMG-LA Presents:

A Spring Equinox Ceremony with the Gay Men's Medicine Circle

The Earth, in her movement around the Sun, is approaching a moment of equilibrium, where both hemispheres, North and South, experience equality, day and night are each exactly 12 hours long.  Join the Gay Men's Medicine Circle in celebrating the beginning of Spring; we will invoke the Directions, cleanse ourselves of Winter torpor, and plant the seeds of this year's harvest.

WHAT TO BRING:  A snack to share is good to bring. A blanket or folding chair to sit on is helpful.  If you have a drum or rattle, bring that along as well!  If you would like, bring a flower to add to the altar.

See above for directions to the site.

RAIN CANCELLATION:  If it is raining the morning of the event, the event will be cancelled. We need the rain, so the Equinox Ceremony definitely does NOT cancel that!

Our Hosts: The Gay Men's Medicine Circle serves the community by collecting and sharing shamanic teachings gleaned from all over the world.  The most ancient human spiritual aspirations revolve around a connection to the immensity of the Universe and beauty of Mother Earth and her myriads of children.  There is no sacred text, other than Nature around us, and no final arbiter of truth, each human must discover their personal path.  The GMMC offers workshops and trainings to tap into this long tradition. Many of the current Circle are active in CMG as well, and there has been a close collaboration between the two organizations for many years.

All CMG events are drug free. This event is also alcohol free.
Sponsored by the CMG-Los Angeles Local Events Committee. All men, local or visiting, are welcome.
To see all events we have going on in the near future, visit the Local Events Page on our site.

CMG-Los Angeles welcomes additional support for planning and carrying out the events we offer.
We are very interested in having additional homes where events could be held.
You need not join the committee to host or work on an event!
If you can help in either respect, please reply to this note to learn more!

If CMG is new to you, one of our local events is a great way to find out about the California Men's Gatherings and the many wonderful men who get involved. Since 1978, CMG has been a place where all men -- gay, bi, trans, and straight, from 18-80+ can find a different way to connect. While attendees of CMG events and retreats are predominately gay and bisexual, all men 18 years or older are welcome. For a complete current list of upcoming local events, visit the Local Events Page
