Temptations in Fairyland (SoCal)
The visually delightful artworks installed in Leonard Greco Jr's "Fairyland" at the MOAH: CEDAR Museum in Lancaster, CA, are both the basis and setting for the live performance of "Temptations in Fairyland." In conjunction with the exhibition, CMGer & multimedia performance artist Jason Jenn presents a 30 minute theatrical solo-piece of expressive movement and spoken word. Weighty tableaus and themes are mixed with flamboyant humor in both Greco’s and Jenn's work that playfully flirts with camp sensibility, with both artists avowing to deliver a
gratifying pleasurable experience. Two shows. Saturday, March 16, 3 PM & 5 PM - FREE. 2/23/19

Heart2Heart Touch Workshops (Los Angeles)
Monthly Heart2Heart Touch Workshops are held at the LGBT Center’s Village at Ed Gould Plaza. The activity is a safe, space for men to connect with men using supportive, nourishing, non-sexual touch. In structured fun activities, fully clothed participants experience what it feels like to be safely held, to receive warm hugs, to have their heads tenderly stroked, or to dance a slow dance cheek-to-cheek. The workshops establish healthy boundaries, creating guidelines for safety, communication, and support. This is the ominous warning, ignored by Julius Caesar, in ancient Roman times. Soothsayers had told him to "Beware the Ides of March" -- "ides" meaning the middle of the month. In the Shakespearean play Julius Caesar, and in real life, the Roman emperor did not heed the now infamous warning, as conspirators, including his friend Brutus, prepared to stab him to death on the stairs of the Roman Senate in 44 BC.
On March 15 of this year we can commemorate that event of 2063 years ago in a very real way. Because, as you know, though Caesar paid no mind to the warning and paid the ultimate price, we can share in and benefit from that moment in time. I mean that literally.
