A Passing to Note
     We are sad to report the passing of CMG brother David Arthur Clark on June 28.  He was 65.  
     Dave was born in Los Angeles on August 11, 1951 and grew up in San Diego, one of three siblings.  He got his BA in Economics (with honors) from UCSD, and his MBA from UCLA, and was a CPA.  He had a knack for corporate advancement.  He worked for Price Waterhouse as a senior auditor.  He then moved over to Universal Studios, where he was the VP & Group Controller for their music division.  He ultimately became the Chief Financial Officer for Universal Studio Operations, staying with them for more than a quarter-century, finally leaving in 2003-4.  
     Dave struggled with alcohol and substance abuse and came successfully through rehab in 2005.  He never relapsed. But every relationship he had had up to then had been work-related.  Then in about 2006, he found the CMG and made real friends.  He dug in quickly, bringing his gifts to share.  He served on spring planning committees, and then eventually as treasurer of the corporate board.  He was a friend to everyone and was generous to a fault.  He always said yes to the CMG using his beautiful San Fernando Valley home for pool parties and meetings. He said yes to everything.
     For the last several years, his passion was the Los Angeles Philharmonic.  He served as a board member of the LA Phil Association and chairman of the LA Phil Associates.
     Dave always had in interest in local flavor in LA., finding the local restaurant or hangout in many LA neighborhoods.  Eventually he took long distance road trips, 3-4 weeks at a time, driving through little towns, avoiding freeways.  He wanted to see what was off the beaten path.  He always had a real zest for discovery.  
     Dave is survived by his brother Clifford Clark of San Francisco, sister Carolyn Clark of San Diego, and a nephew and niece.  
     A CMG-sponsored memorial will be held in Los Angeles on August 12, from 2-4 PM, in West Hollywood’s Plummer Park, rooms 1&2.
